Wedding Commissioners The Town of Gravenhurst has appointed three (3) Wedding Commissioners to perform civil services on its behalf. The Commissioners are ONLY permitted to perform ceremonies within the boundaries of the Town of Gravenhurst and under the guidelines and procedures that have been approved by Council. See Guidelines attached to the application form. Locations: At this time, the Council of the Town of Gravenhurst has ONLY agreed to the provision of civil marriage ceremonies in the Council Chambers located at the Municipal Offices, 3-5 Pineridge Gate, Gravenhurst. Such services are normally offered on the 4th Friday of each month. Booking a Civil Marriage Ceremony All bookings are done through the Clerk’s Department. Bookings must be confirmed at least seven (7) days in advance of the ceremony and a Mandatory Pre-Ceremony Meeting is held with Both Applicants prior to the Ceremony. Applications and Booking Agreements are available at the Municipal Office or may be downloaded here and returned to the Municipal Office. Civil Marriage Application and Guidelines Fees: All Fees are payable to the Town of Gravenhurst and are paid at the Pre-Ceremony Meeting. Cash, cheque or interac only.
Maximum number of guests = twenty (20) NO ALCOHOL prior to or during the wedding for couple, witnesses and guests. Wedding Officiant reserves the right to call off the ceremony if the alcohol rule is violated. REMEMBER – It is your Special Day and Appropriate Dress for the occasion is required. |
