Obstruction, Encumbrance or Interference on Roadways |
| |
| | | Notice to All Property Owners in the Town of Gravenhurst | | | |
| | | | By-law No. 99-35 was passed on March 16th, 1999 to prohibit the obstruction, encumbrance or interference on any roadway within the municipality. On December 16th, 2003, By-law No. 2003-162 was passed to further define "encumbrance" to include garbage containers, storage bins or any similar type of unit. Please be sure that you do not have any type of unit or structure that may extend into the road allowance or traveled roadway. At this time of year, such units may impede the safe operation of maintenance equipment, specifically snow ploughs, sanders, graders, etc. in addition to the unit being damaged. Please be advised that the Town of Gravenhurst is not responsible for any units or structures contravening the by-laws that may be damaged or destroyed. Canada Post sets guidelines for the placement of rural mailboxes and those guidelines should be followed very closely. For complete copies of By-law Nos. 99-35 and 2003-162, please click here.
