GULL LAKE BEACH STATUS UPDATE

On Friday August 24th , an unidentified substance was found in the waters of Gull Lake. The Town promptly responded by closing the beach and reporting the situation to the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit and the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change for investigation.

Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit completed testing and advised that the levels of E.coli are acceptable for swimming, however, we have not received confirmation on investigation results from the Ministry.

At this time, the Gull Lake Beach remains closed, until further direction from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.

The Town will provide notice once the Beach Closure has been lifted.

Questions and inquiries can be directed to Marta Proctor, Director of Recreation, Arts & Culture Services at 705-687-6774.
