Skokie Spreads the Love with Winter Carnival Community Donations
Gravenhurst, ON – The 2018 Gravenhurst Winter Carnival Committee was pleased to present donations to five deserving community organizations from the proceeds of this year’s Gravenhurst Winter Carnival.
Mayor Donaldson and Committee Chair Rob Abbott were on hand  to personally deliver over $3,000 in donations to organizations including; Gravenhurst Archives, Gravenhurst Women’s Centre, Gravenhurst Supper Club, Gravenhurst High School and the Salvation Army Foodbank. “Anytime we receive proceeds from the event of significant amount, we endeavour to give back to our community,” said Amy Taylor, Winter Carnival 2018 Committee staff liaison.  Groups who wish to be considered for future funding opportunities should contact the Committee.
The 2018 Carnival was a huge success with over 3,500 buttons sold.  There were over 70 sponsors and a 100 + volunteers who helped make the Carnival such as success.
While many turn their thoughts to summer, sunshine and water fun, the Gravenhurst Winter Carnival Committee continues to work on planning for the upcoming 2019 Carnival, set to run in February.  Volunteers are always needed and welcomed.
