It’s an All Canadian New Year’s Eve at the Gravenhurst Opera House
Gravenhurst, ON - What are you doing on New Year’s Eve? Why not ring in the New Year and celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday one last time with the all Canadian cast of award winning Toronto singer, Shakura S’Aida, musical director Lance Anderson and bassist  extraordinaire Russ Boswell.
On December 31st, this talented trio will perform an evening of gems from 80 years of Canadian songwriting, showcasing music from a wide variety of Canadian songwriters, delivered in the blues, soul and jazz style, that Ms. S’Aida is so well known for.  Think of Neil Young’s ‘Heart of Gold’ performed as if Etta James had recorded it.
In addition to the stellar entertainment, the Opera House is also offering a dinner and show package for $75 per person, as well as a concert only option for $35.  Dinner will be provided by North Catering and include the traditional New Year’s Eve party favours to help bring in the new year.
Shakura has won Female Vocalist of the Year at the Maple Blues Awards and placed 2nd in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN, among many other nominations.  Lance Anderson is a Juno award winning producer, pianist and arranger. His orchestral arrangement of Oscar Peterson’s iconic Canadiana Suite was premiered in May 2017 by the Okanagan Symphony.  Russ Boswell is one of the premiere bassists in the country. He has recorded and performed with: Serena Ryder, Colm Wilkinson, David Wilcox, Corey Hart, Holly Cole, Carol Welsman, David Clayton Thomas and more.
This show will be spectacular and a very moving way to say farewell to 2017 and Canada 150.  Dinner & Show: $75.00 / Show Only:  $35.00. Dinner: 6:00 pm/ Doors Open:  7:30 pm/ Show begins at 8:00 pm.
