Subject: TransCanada’s Gravenhurst Pipe Replacement Project – Construction Update

Dear Neighbour:

We write to provide an update on construction underway as part of TransCanada’s Gravenhurst Pipeline Replacement Project.

In mid-November 2017, TransCanada started Direct Pipe Installation (DPI) activities, which is the drilling of the pipe path under the Severn River and Canal Road.

As a result of unseasonably cold weather, and ongoing geotechnical conditions within the bedrock TransCanada has experienced slower than expected progress. Due to weather and geotechnical conditions, additional unplanned maintenance of equipment has been necessary. Much of the additional equipment maintenance was deferred until early January, as a result of a shutdown of drilling operations over the Christmas/New Year’s holidays.

TransCanada continues to ready the construction site and prepare equipment for drilling. Re-commencement of 24 hours per day drilling operations are expected to resume in mid-February and are anticipated to be complete this winter.

We are working diligently to complete this aspect of the Project as soon as possible. We apologize for this inconvenience and truly appreciate your patience. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 705-238-0665.

Sincerely,

Brian MacDonnell
