How many items can I borrow from the library?

  • There is a maximum of 10 dvd's borrowed per card.
  • There is a maximum of 1 eReader borrowed per young adult or adult card. Children cards may not borrow eReaders.

How long may I borrow materials?

  • DVDs and Video games are on loan for 1 week.
  • eReaders are on loaned for 3 weeks and cannot be renewed.
  • All other items are on loan for 3 weeks, though some high-demand books are on loan for 14 days. An item can be renewed if no one has requested it.

How can I find out when my library materials are due?

  • You may ask staff at the library in person or by phone or by reviewing your account on the Library's online catalogue.

How do I see what materials I have on my card using the online catalogue?

  1. Click on the link to enter the online catalogue
  2. Click the my account tab at the top of the page.
  3. Enter your entire 14 digit library card number
  4. Enter your pin number (the last 4 digits of your phone number)
  5. Click on checked out to see what you have checked out on your card.

What are the fines on overdue materials?

Fines are:

  • Books, music CDs, Magazines, and Audio books: 25 cents per day per item. $5.00 maximum per item.
  • DVD's and Video games : $1.00 per day. 
  • eReader fines are $5.00 per day to a maximum of $200.00.

Can I renew my library materials?

  • Materials may be renewed in person at the circulation desk of the library; by phoning or over the Internet through "My Account" on the library's website. If there is a hold for another patron on an item, you will not be able to renew it.

How do I renew materials using online catalogue?

  1. Click on the link to enter the online catalogue
  2. Click the my account tab at the top of the page.
  3. Enter your entire 14 digit library card number
  4. Enter your pin number (the last 4 digits of your phone number)
  5. Click on checked out to see what you have checked out on your card.
  6. Check the book beside the item you would like to renew
  7. Once the item is checked, click on renew at the top or bottom of list.

Must I pay my fines before I can take out library materials?

  • When a borrower has over $3.00 in fines and/or replacement charges, borrowing and computer privileges will be suspended until the fines are paid.

What do I do if I have accidentally damaged or lost library material?

  • For material lost or damaged beyond repair, as determined by library staff, you will be charged the cost of replacing the item plus a $6.00 processing fee. If within 6 months, a lost item is found and returned, at the library's staff discretion, you will be refunded the cost of the item upon presentation of payment receipt and item.
