Promotional image for the upcoming Jack Hutton & Friends concert on September 3rd

Jack Hutton & Friends

Saturday, September 3rd
Doors 6:30 PM | Show 7:30 PM
Tickets $25

Whenever Jack Hutton & Friends appear on stage, you know you are in for a very special night. The five musicians all love the joyous music of the 1920s and 1930s and have been playing it for more than 30 years. They are famous for turning any theatre, large or small, into a relaxed living room. That will happen all over again on Sept. 3rd as the music of Fats Waller, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Walter Donaldson and other giants from the past return to life at the Opera House. The evening will include musical gems like "You Oughta Be In Pictures", composed in 1933 by Dana Suesse, who is almost forgotten today but was once regarded as a female Gershwin, plus other tunes only heard on scratchy 78 rpm recordings.

The five members of Jack Hutton & Friends rarely play more than once a year, but they have shared their love of authentic early jazz for more than 30 years. Jack on piano, Ric Giorgi on string bass and bass saxophone, and Will Wilson on guitar and banjo all played together in the Rainbow Gardens Jazz Orchestra between the late 1970s and early 1990s. That included three years in a row at the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival on the banks of the Mississippi at Davenport, Iowa. Bob Livingston, one of Canada's finest trombone players for decades, also performed frequently with the Rainbow Gardens.  He toured with the Glenn Miller Band across North America in the 1950s. Brian Bauer, a prominent jazz musician in Buffalo for decades, plays clarinet and every saxophone known to man in the style of vaudeville and early jazz.  Put all five musicians together and you have one of the best and most authentic early jazz groups in all North America.

From his strap-happy teacher ("Sister Mary of the Compassionate and Merciful Christ") to his insane neighbor Margo (who is driven by the spirit of Eva Peron to become president of their condo association), an ironic and self-deprecating romp ensues as Roger discovers that the simple song and dance of life may be the answer to his problems.  Award winning director Dayna Tekatch with musical director Sherisse Stevens guide the formidable comic duo of Debbie Collins and Larry Herbert. Pacquette Productions presents

The Legendary Patsy Cline Show

Starring Amberly Beatty
with The Sweet Dreams Band

Saturday, October 29th
Doors 7:00 PM | Show 8:00 PM
Tickets $35

When Amberley Beatty steps on stage, the very spirit, the very soul of one of the greatest singers in the history of Pop and Country music comes to life as the legendary Patsy Cline.

Patsy Cline's two diverse looks are captured in evening gown and Western style dress complete with the sultry sound and bright red lipstick of the early 1960's. When asked how she was influenced, Amberley explains, 'When I was a little girl the best time of my life was sitting at the breakfast table with my Grandpa listening to the oldies country station on the radio. He and I would sing along to his favourite songs like Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams, and of course Patsy Cline. I think that is where it all began.' And so begins this magical ride.

For those fans who have never seen the real Patsy Cline perform live, they will be brought as close as can be when Amberley captures her essence in every note she sings - and she'll have a heck of a lot of fun doing it too - expect to sing along, laugh, and at times be brought to tears by this very special performance.
