This season features a new generation of Canadian contemporary playwrights, and as well, honours our history with two brilliant musical pioneers who helped build our vibrant entertainment industry, Muskoka summer residents, and Officers of the Order of Canada, Alan Lund and Howard Cable. 

Come to laugh, come to cry, and of course feel free to dance in the aisles! From directors and designers to actors and musicians, some of Canada's brightest talent will be in town this summer, and you won't want to miss the party."

This Big Band Review takes you back to the time when swing was King! From the complex harmonies of The Andrews Sisters to the Jungle Rhythms of Count Basie, this is the legendary music that shaped a generation, and today can still pack a dance floor with folks of all ages.  Originally presented at the Charlottetown Festival, the brainchild of two Canadian Entertainment Pioneers, Showman Alan Lund, and musical legend Howard Cable.  Join our all singing, all dancing cast and a live swing band for a Sentimental Journey that will have you dancing out the door.

"When Jim got his first guitar at the age of ten, the first song he learned was Gordon Lightfoot's "That's What You Get For Loving Me". Today, more than thirty years after the formation of Blue Rodeo, Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor are widely respected as one of Canada's best songwriting teams.  At Sawdust City Music Festival, Jim will be joined by Anne Lindsay on fiddle, Colin Cripps on guitar, and his sons Sam Polley and JUNO-nominated Devin Cuddy to form The Jim Cuddy Family Band.  Singing a blend of each artist's songs, the show offers the audience a fun and intimate evening of music."

Sing Along Tim and The Pacifiers play fully interactive folk rock for Families. From classic and traditional to new and original via some of the greats like Woody Guthrie, Leadbelly, Pete Seeger and Sharon Lois & Bram. All of their songs are arranged and performed in a way that encourages everyone to join in and experience the joy of making music together.

Over the past few years Sing Along Tim and the Pacifiers have played all over Ontario; way up north in Sioux Lookout and Manitoulin Island, as far east as VanKleek Hill as well as Toronto, Oakville and Burlington. Last year they won the 'Stingray Songs From The Heart Award' for best children's song for 'Booger Song'. They have just finished recording their next album 'Bunchy Sleeves and Bendy Knees'.

An all-star Canadian cast of award-winning blues and roots musicians will perform a special concert honouring The Music of STAX Records, the legendary Memphis recording company that brought you Sam and Dave, Otis Redding, Booker T. and the MG's, Eddie Floyd, Rufus Thomas, Carla Thomas, The Staples, the Bar-Kays and more! 

Under the direction of producer and musical director, Lance Anderson, their appearance on the main stage will also bring together three legends of the 'Toronto Sound': The irrepressible John Finley (Checkmates, Rhinoceros) the Blue-eyed Prince of Soul, George Olliver (Mandala) and Jay Jackson (The Cougars) all grew up on this music. They are the real deal! Add extraordinary singers Cheryl Lescom, and young Kitchener, ON phenom Matt Weidinger, plus an incredible band including Memphis-born Shamakah Ali (Al Green) on drums and you have a show not to be missed! 

This will be the sixth in a series of concerts that Anderson has produced. Jack Hutton & Friends is celebrating Canada's birthday with an All-Canadian program that will include K-k-k-Katy from World War I and I Did It My Way, which Paul Anka wrote for Frank Sinatra. 

Hum along with a series of hit tunes that were written by Guy Lombardo's brother, Carman, and introduced by the Lombardo band, the Royal Canadians. Listen to I'll Never Smile Again, a song written by Toronto's Ruth Lowe that became Frank Sinatra's first recorded hit. Also includes hits by Shelton Brooks and Joseph Scriven.

Most people have forgotten that some of the world's best loved tunes were all written by Canadians.

While revisiting the shores of Juno Beach, Jake encounters Isabelle, a precocious 10-year-old from the local village whose inquisitive nature and charm challenge the old soldier to confront some long-ignored ghosts - most notably, the war-time death of his eldest brother. At its heart, Jake's Gift is about the legacy of remembrance and personalizes the story behind one soldier's grave.
