Information Requests

The Legislative Services/Clerks Department is responsible for all requests for information under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA). The Act allows the public to access information while at the same time protects all personal information that the municipality may have in their custody and control.

Many records of the municipality area considered public and are available at any time during regular office hours. Some of those records include:

  • By-laws
  • Agendas and Minutes
  • Financial statements for the Corporation

The Town of Gravenhurst tries to provide as much information as possible while still complying with the legislation.

Requests for information under MFIPPA should be completed on the application form and must be accompanied by the $5.00 application fee.

Under the legislation, the municipality has thirty days to respond to such requests but tries to respond as quickly as possible.
