The Town of Gravenhurst has formulated and maintains an Emergency Response Plan. Like all of Ontario’s municipalities, the Town has appointed a Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC) and a Community Control Group (CCG) to oversee the Plan, as specified in the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act. The objective of the Town’s Emergency Management Program is to assist in providing for the protection of life and property by identifying risks and hazards and by establishing plans to mitigate the effects within the community when a major emergency occurs. Our emergency planning staff work in close cooperation with our community partners, the local emergency services, the emergency planning staff of our neighbouring municipalities and with the other levels of government and the various ministries and departments.
