Annoucement Town of Gravenhurst and Gravenhurst YMCA Announcement December 16, 2011 The Town of Gravenhurst and YMCA are pleased to announce that the building will be open to the public on Monday, Dec 19th. All scheduled fitness classes and children’s programs will also be available. The pools remain under construction and more details will follow. We encourage the community to stay active over the holidays and come participate in our many programs. Winter/Spring Brochures & Registration will be available beginning Dec 19th. Happy Holidays!!!

September 2011 Phase II – Aquatic Facility
Landscape Tender - Fowler Construction - ongoing and expect to be completed mid October 2011. Skatepark Tender - New Line Skate Parks - site elevations completed and assembling equipment. Estimated completion by the end of October 2011. July 2011 Date for permanent power switch over will be on Monday March 7, 2011. Arena side is moving along on schedule, right now they are at approximately 90% complete for priming, painting is 30-40%, and tiling is at 60-70%. Pool Side - currently in construction for roofing above pools, 95% structural steel complete, exterior windows have been started. They are well underway to having enclosed by the end of March. Ice Season completed by - March 18th. Trailers (change rooms/washrooms) will be removed leaving one single washroom for Community Services staff. Dalton advises that they are still on schedule to have the arena side complete by Mid April, providing no hold ups on ordering./changes for products. Dalton will be booking the appropriate inspections as we near the completion of the arena side to have everything in place and ready for summer ice users. September/October/November 2010 Arena side - mechanical and electrical rough ins are in progress. - interior walls mostly up - roofing underway - windows beginning - exterior masonry has begun Pool side - foundations almost complete - floors being poured - ground floor walls underway - structural steel going up - 2nd floor core slabs - week of Nov. 22nd - timberwork will be started shortly (late week of Nov 22nd) - underground pipe completed

December 2009 - Committee directs CS&P Architects to proceed to Design Development and Contract Documents.
December 15, 2009 - Report to Council summarizing public comments received at Public Open House on November 30, 2009. Please note a copy of the Report is available here! November 30, 2009 -A Stakeholders Meeting and a Public Open House were held in order for CS & P Architects to present the schematic design drawings to date. Also Dalton Company invited any trade vendors to submit their names to be put on list for construction suppliers. Public Comments were also received. October 20, 2009 – Simcoe Muskoka YMCA will be the provider of services for the new Aquatic Facility & Fitness Centre. Resolution passed at Committee of the Whole meeting.
