The Gravenhurst Daisy Award recognizes residents, businesses and groups whose efforts have produced beautiful front yard gardens or landscapes that contribute to a more attractive neighbourhood and community. The Daisy Award was developed in 2002 as a Gravenhurst Communities In Bloom initiative and is now organized and implemented as a partnership with the Gravenhurst Horticultural Society. Not only are the awards meant to recognize property owners for their efforts, but they are also meant to encourage other residents and businesses to upgrade and beautify their property. The 2010 Daisy Awards were judged on July 22, 2010. Volunteer members of the Communities In Bloom Committee and Gravenhurst Horticultural Society were paired into ten teams of two, and dispersed throughout ten different areas of Gravenhurst. Those areas and pictures of winning properties are listed below. ZONE 1 - West Gravenhurst ZONE 2 - North West Urban Core ZONE 3 - South West Urban Core ZONE 4 - Muskoka Beach Road Area ZONE 5 - North East Urban Core ZONE 6 - South East Urban Core ZONE 7 - Kilworthy ZONE 8 - Severn Bridge ZONE 9 - Doe Lake Road & Ryde ZONE 10 - North Rural - Gravenhurst Parkway/Winhara Rd./Jones Rd. area |
