| Gull Lake Rotary Park Tree Donation Program |
|
The Community Services Department has been in consultation with professional arborists regarding an ongoing tree planting program for Gull Lake Rotary Park, following the tornado of August 2009. As part of the program, the public is encouraged to assist in off-setting the cost to replace the many trees lost during the storm by donating a tree or making a donation towards the tree planting program.
DONATION INFORMATION
The Community Services Department will guarantee the tree for a period of two years. If the tree should fail to flourish within that time period, it will be replaced by the Community Services Department. The Community Services Department reserves the right to remove a donated tree that has been planted longer than two years and has died, become diseased or dangerous, or has been destroyed or damaged by a severe weather event. Participants may also contribute by making a general donation to the tree planting program in any amount. However, for processing purposes, the Community Services Department is requesting a minimum donation amount of $50.00. All participants will be issued a receipt for income tax purposes. RECOGNITION: The Community Services Department will provide a plaque affixed to a large slab of one of the white pines lost during the tornado, featured in a prominent location within the park. The plaque will list the names of all participants who donated towards the replacement of trees. Donators will be listed under Large Tree Donations, Small Tree Donations, and General Donations.
Large tree species, to be planted in the main park area and along the fence line: White Pine White Pine will be 10’ tall, balled and burlapped, and the cost will be $600.00.
