Cooking Fire_July 20 GFD Gravenhurst, ON – A fire at a home in Gravenhurst early Monday evening caused extensive damage but could have been much worse.
Shortly after 6:00 p.m., Gravenhurst fire crews were called to a residence on Chickadee Lane after the exterior wall of the structure caught fire due to cooking. FOREST FIRE RATING SYSTEM_MODERATE Issued Tuesday June 15, 2021   The Fire rating is now set at MODERATE .   Small fires are permitted in most rural areas of Muskoka keeping in mind that NO DAYTIME BURNING is allowed. You must have adequate tools and water to extinguish the fire if the need arises and you must be with your fire at all times. Issued May 31, 2021
The Fire rating is now set at EXTREME .
No fires of any type are permitted. No fires are permitted for cooking or warmth and no fireworks are allowed.
This is the Forest Fire Danger Rating for Restricted Fire Zone RFZ 27 (District of Muskoka). The Muskoka Fire Season runs April 1 st to October 31 st each year. The rating is verified daily and updated whenever the rating changes.
