South Kahshe Lake Road culvert replacement project starting Sept. 11

The Town of Gravenhurst is moving ahead with a planned culvert replacement project on South Kahshe Lake Road, 80 metres east of Tryon Drive, starting Monday, Sept. 11. 

The road will remain open while the work takes place, however, there will be single lane closures. It is anticipated the road will be opened to two lanes of traffic at the end of each working day and on weekends.

Work is expected to be complete by Sept. 22.

Location of Emergency: A road closure on Muskoka Road 20 (Doe Lake Road) in the Town of Gravenhurst. Just past Waters Road East. 

Road Closure Start Date: 09/12/2023   

Road Closure End Date: Unknown – Anticipated to last 3 days 

CLOSURE DETAILS: The District of Muskoka is replacing a twin culvert that runs under the road. This project is critical to improve water drainage and ensure the long-term stability of Muskoka Road 20 (Doe Lake Road).

Laycox Road closing for culvert project

A section of Laycox Road in Gravenhurst will be closed starting Monday, Sept. 11 to accommodate a culvert replacement project.

Access to properties within the closure area will be maintained. Emergency services will still have access to the area at all times.

The town anticipates the closure will be for four days.

Community Improvement Program applications now open

Following the August committee of the whole meeting, town council approved new program timelines and increased amounts for several grant categories.

Businesses and property owners can now submit their application for the 2024 intake of the Community Improvement Program.
