Request to Name Gazebo/Muskoka Wharf Area

Pursuant to the Naming of Public Parks and Recreation Facilities Policy, the Town of Gravenhurst has received a request to name the gazebo and surrounding area at the Muskoka Wharf the ‘A.P. Cockburn Square’.

Any person wishing to express their comments regarding the proposed name, either in support or opposition, may do so in writing prior to 4:30 pm Friday, April 15th, 2016 addressed to the following:

Flood Warning Update - Gravenhurst Affected Areas

Gravenhurst, ON - The Town of Gravenhurst, led by the Emergency Control Group, continue to closely monitor water levels and road conditions directly impacted by the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Flood Warning, originally issued March 31.

Gauge levels on South Kahshe Lake and Seven River decreased slightly overnight. However, the gauge level on the Black River continues to increase and has crested portions of Coopers Falls...

World Autism Day was marked April 2, in honour of this day; local municipalities in Muskoka including the Town of Gravenhurst have raised a flag to help promote awareness of Autism and create dialogue around those living with autism. Flood Warning- Affected Gravenhurst Area’s – Update April 3, 2016

(12:00PM) Gauge levels at Kahshe Lake and Severn River remain the same as Saturday morning (April 2) with no increase.  Black River is rising and is now at 47". It had started to creep onto the road edge along Cooper Falls Road (District Rd 6). The culvert at Merkley Road is now repaired. All other roads reported previously remain in the same condition and will continue to be monitored.
