Gravenhurst High School Bursary 2024: Apply now

The Town of Gravenhurst is now accepting applications for its annual Gravenhurst High School Bursary.

“Once again, we are happy to provide this $2,000 bursary to a Gravenhurst High School graduate. The intent of the bursary program is to help a graduate achieve their goal of furthering their education at the post-secondary level,” Mayor Heidi Lorenz said.

Fire Danger Rating system monitored April through October

The Fire Danger Rating is a Muskoka-wide rating system monitored from April through October.

In Gravenhurst, open-air fires are only permitted between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. during this time. Several conditions must be met to burn. A full list of rules can be found in the Burn By-law.

The rating is verified daily by Muskoka fire chiefs and updated as conditions change. The current fire danger rating is LOW.

Town staffer recognized for earning municipal certificate

Council congratulated Deidre Sullivan, records and information coordinator for the Town of Gravenhurst, on recently completing the Municipal Administration Program (MAP).

MAP is a certificate program offered through the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario.

The program consists of four courses.

Throughout the program, individuals acquire skills that are essential to working effectively in the municipal sector.
