Town Declares Significant Weather Event

Gravenhurst, ON – Effective immediately, the Town of Gravenhurst is declaring a Significant Weather Event (SWE) due to the excessive snowfall and an unfavourable mix of winter weather conditions.
Environment Canada’s special weather statement for our area states in part that an organized lake effect snow band continues to affect our region. This snow band is expected to move southwards as of this afternoon.

Winter Parking By-Law

With winter fast approaching, the Gravenhurst By-Law Department would like to remind everyone about the Winter Parking By-Law.
Starting November 1st to April 30th, between the hours of 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., everyone is asked to ensure their vehicles are not parked along roadways to allow plows easier access to the road for most effective snow removal.
Section 1 of By-Law No. 2016-92 speaks to parking prohibition between November 1st and April 30th, 12:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
