At the Tuesday, April 12th Council meeting, during his regular Mayor’s Update, and after much thought and consideration, Mayor Paul Kelly announced that he would not be running in the upcoming Gravenhurst Municipal Election. As stated by Mayor Kelly, this announcement would put to rest any speculation of a second term as the Head of Council in advance of the nomination period (May 2, 2022, to August 19, 2022, at 2:00 pm). Gravenhurst Firefighters Annual Christmas Toy Drive

Gravenhurst, ON – Gravenhurst Firefighters are once again gearing up to collect toys to help the Salvation Army provide a Merry Christmas for area children who may not receive a gift otherwise this holiday season.
Firefighters will be stationed at two locations collecting toy donations for the Salvation Army:
- Gravenhurst Canadian Tire on Saturday, November 20th, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Muskoka Discovery Centre on Saturday, November 27th, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

House Fire in Gravenhurst

Gravenhurst, ON – A fire has damaged a home in the urban area of Gravenhurst on Phillip Street. Just after 4:00 p.m. yesterday (Tuesday, November 9th), several calls were placed to 9-1-1 by area residents reporting a fire in progress.
Firefighters from all three Gravenhurst stations rushed to the scene to find flames coming out of the second-floor windows of the home with the fire rapidly growing. Fire crews were able to quickly put out the flames and prevent any further spread on the property.
