The District of Muskoka is celebrating Earth Day!

This annual event provides residents with an opportunity to pick up free nutrient-rich compost created from Muskoka’s leaf, yard waste and green bin composting programs.

Muskoka’s Compost can more properly be defined as a soil amendment or soil conditioner. For best results a 60% topsoil and 40% compost mix is recommended.

The Recreation Arts & Culture Department has cancelled the learn to skate program scheduled for tonight, due to the freezing rain. Staff have contacted participants and left messages regarding this cancellation.  Keep safe everyone!

A heat episode will continue on today for many regions in Southern Ontario. Daytime temperatures will reach the low thirties with afternoon humidex values in the mid to upper thirties. Overnight lows will be near 20 degrees.This latest heat episode will come to an end tonight with the passage of a cold front.

Planned Road Closure (Gravenhurst) MR 13 - May 26, 2016

Please be advised that Muskoka Road 13 (Southwood Road) in Gravenhurst will be closed to vehicles in both directions May 26, 2016 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

This one-day planned closure is to allow for asphalt installation to complete repairs to the Jevins Creek bridge.  Detour map attached.
