Location of Planned Road Closure: Sparrow Lake Bridge, located on Muskoka Road 49 (Canning Road), 700 metres West of Muskoka Road 13 (Southwood Road) in the Town of Gravenhurst
Road Closure Start Date: 10/10/2023 at 8:00 a.m.
Road Closure End Date: Anticipated to last two weeks. This is a full road closure with no EMS access.
CLOSURE DETAILS: The closure is necessary for Bridge Rehabilitation – The Bridge needs repairs before the winter season.

The Town of Bracebridge, Town of Gravenhurst, Township of Georgian Bay, Town of Huntsville, Township of Lake of Bays and Township of Muskoka Lakes have joined forces on yet another collaborative project - the development and release of an RFP for a Muskoka Joint Area Municipal Greenhouse Gas Inventory and Climate Change Mitigation Plan.

Compost giveaway returns to Gravenhurst

The popular ‘Compost Giveaway’ returns to Gravenhurst on April 21.
Free compost will be available for pickup starting at 10 a.m. at the Muskoka Wharf, 150 Steamship Bay Rd., while quantities last.
Please bring your own shovels, buckets, and containers.
The nutrient rich compost is made in Muskoka from leaf, yard waste, and green bin organics.

Council Approves 2023 Budget Tax Rate Increase of 2.9%

Gravenhurst, ON –At Wednesday’s Special Council Meeting, Council approved the 2023 Budget which will result in a 2.9% increase to the Town of Gravenhurst share of the tax rate for 2023. This was the first budget approved by Mayor Lorenz and the 2022-2026 Term of Council.
After publication of the budget materials on January 6, 2023, Council deliberated on the details of both the operating and capital budgets over the course of two days – January 31st and February 1st.
