Council chamber closed for renovations, new meeting locations

Renovations to the Gravenhurst council chamber have officially started and will result in a better user experience for the public, council members, and staff. 

During the project period, expected to run until the end of November, meetings normally held in the council chamber will take place at other locations in the community. See details below. As always, these meetings are open to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend.

Location of Planned Road Closure: A road closure on James Street in the Town of Gravenhurst, near the Shoppers Drug Mart. 

Road Closure Start Date: 09/25/2023 at 7:00 a.m. 

Road Closure End Date: Anticipated to last two weeks. This is a full road closure with no EMS access. 

CLOSURE DETAILS: The closure is necessary to replace underground water infrastructure and road repairs to improve our road infrastructure.

TimberBeast Productions presentation

Autumn Smith of TimberBeast Productions made a presentation to council.

Smith is TimberBeast’s artistic director and executive director.

She provided council with an overview of the organization – a local theatre company dedicated to voicing the Muskoka narrative.
