Gravenhurst High School Bursary: Apply now

The town is now accepting applications for its annual Gravenhurst High School Bursary.

“Council is pleased to present this $2,000 bursary to a Gravenhurst High School graduate. The intent of the bursary program is to help a graduate achieve their goal of furthering their education at the post-secondary level,” Mayor Heidi Lorenz said.

Be prepared: Black River, Severn River, Sparrow Lake water levels rising

Water levels in the Black River, Severn River, and Sparrow Lake are expected to continue rising and remain elevated for at least another week, the Town of Gravenhurst is advising the community.

Residents living in these areas should prepare their properties to mitigate the effects of the rising water. This includes sandbagging properties, if needed, and moving items of value, if possible, to higher ground.

Emergency Road Closure – East Severn River Rd.

Effective immediately (9:07 p.m., April 5, 2023), the Town of Gravenhurst will be closing East Severn River Rd., east of #1012 to the end of the road.

The closure is due to a sinkhole just east of 1012 East Severn River Rd. that will impede access to 1023 and 1025 East Severn River Rd. Staff have temporarily closed the road at #1012. Staff have been on site conducting inspections and evaluating the required repairs. Repairs will be initiated April 6.
