COVID-19 UPDATE FOR JUNE 26, 2020

Gravenhurst, ON – The Municipal Office and Town facilities remain closed to public access as the Town of Gravenhurst as per the advice of the Ministry of Health and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. Regular business activities continue through phone and email, as staff work to provide the best possible service under the current circumstances. On Wednesday July 1st, Town operations will pause to celebrate Canada’s birthday.

“I want to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable week ahead as many of you intend to include Canada’s birthday into your holiday plans. This will be a Canada Day unlike any other, especially in Gravenhurst where we’ve always had the opportunity to celebrate together at Gull Lake Rotary Park. I know this is an event that Council and I really look forward to every year, but in the spirit of staying safe and protecting others, we will celebrate in our own special way and our own special circles this year,” said Mayor Kelly. “In addition to enjoying all of the beauty around us, I encourage you to participate in Canada’s National Virtual Celebration on July 1st. You will find links to all the scheduled activities on the Town’s website.”

While Gull Lake Rotary Park beach remains under a swim advisory, the Town is pleased to announce that Muskoka Beach Park has now opened. Swim delineators have been moved to a new location at that park. Please observe all posted signage and guidelines, and maintain appropriate physical distancing while enjoying Lake Muskoka.

The Gravenhurst Public Library begins their Virtual Summer Programming on Monday June 29th, please visit www.gravenhurstlibrary.com for more details.

The Economic Development Division recently participated in the first meeting of the District of Muskoka Recovery Task Force. Further updates and details will be shared with the community during the upcoming Gravenhurst Town Council meeting on July 21st.

As a reminder, a Drive Through COVID-19 Testing Assessment Clinic has been established for Gravenhurst on Tuesday June 30TH between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM at the Gravenhurst Centennial Centre parking lot. Please note that this Assessment Clinic is intended only for those seeking to visit a Long-term Care Home, Retirement Home, or other congregate living setting.
