Gravenhurst, ON – The Town of Gravenhurst continues to review services and implement measures necessary in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Due to the Emergency Declaration from the Province of Ontario, as authorized by the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, which ordered the closure of non-essential places of business including marinas, the Town will be postponing the opening of its seasonal dock rentals until further notice: this includes docks A, D and E.  The postponement of available docking slips at the Muskoka Wharf Marina does not impact the use of Gravenhurst municipal boat launches at this time. Additionally, public docks B and C will remain open to the public. The Town will be offering those who have made payment towards a 2020 slip placement on a priority list for opening, with an opportunity to transfer payments to the 2021 season in the event the marina does not open.  Full refunds will also be available.  For further information, the public is advised to contact the Infrastructure Services department by email at
In addition to the Province releasing a three-staged plan this week to begin easing current Orders, community gardens were deemed essential and are now permitted during the state of emergency in Ontario.  The Province stated that community gardens are an essential source of fresh food for some individuals and families.  Council had recently passed a motion to support this very item.  The SMDHU has additionally released guidance for those community gardens, which can be found on the Town’s website For those interested in finding out more information on the community garden boxes at the Centennial Centre, please email Users are reminded to follow on-site signage.
Work continues on the COVID-19 Financial Assistance Fund to assist established community agencies and service clubs that provide assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Further details and information will soon be made available on the Town’s website and through additional Town communication channels.
Members of the public are encouraged to check regularly on the Town’s website for updates as the situation develops.  Please visit for more information or call 705-687-3412.
