Gravenhurst Annual Business Survey Enters Fifth Year

Business Input Helping to Advance Economic Development Programs

Gravenhurst, ON – The Town of Gravenhurst’s Economic Development team are once again reaching out to businesses in November and December for the fifth Annual Business Review Survey. Information and feedback received through this survey is critical for setting priorities and creating projects that support businesses and foster growth in the community.

“We are always looking for ways to support and better understand the needs of our local business community,” said Mayor Paul Kelly. “Many of our economic initiatives were created as a result of this survey as it provides business owners the opportunity to provide valued input and connect with our staff to celebrate successes and work on solutions to the challenges they may be facing,” said the Mayor.

 Since 2015, the program has shed light on many local challenges, including access, attraction and retention of the workforce. In response and based on feedback received, the Economic Development team has created programs to assist the business community such as settlement services, a program aimed at finding employee housing, employment for trailing spouses and assistance with integration into the community.

“This year, this program has been an important tool to build and maintain relationships with our business owners as communication and partnerships are key ingredients to building a healthy and vibrant community,” noted Jeff Loney, manager of economic development. “It will also be very interesting to see a detailed snap shot of the last five years. We’ve seen so many positive changes and business growth in that time.”

Business owners who prefer the Online version can complete the survey until December 31 at their leisure by visiting;

The final report will be completed and released during the first quarter of 2020. Previous reports can be found under the Community Profile tab in the Doing Business section on the Town’s website;
