COVID-19 UPDATE FOR OCTOBER 9th, 2020 - Happy Thanksgiving!

Posted On Friday October 09, 2020

Gravenhurst, ON – Thanksgiving weekend is upon us, typically a time for friends and family to get together, enjoy good food and company, but this year will be significantly different as we continue to work to reduce the spread of COVID-19.  Collectively, public health and governmental officials are advising people to keep their Thanksgiving gatherings small this year, stay within your own households, enjoy the outdoors or try celebrating virtually.

“We all share the responsibility of protecting ourselves and our loved ones from COVID-19. This Thanksgiving, we really want to emphasize the important message from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, and that is to limit your contact with others, stay within your bubbles and continue to follow the important day to day recommendations such as wearing a mask in public and washing and sanitizing your hands.  Enjoy the beautiful fall colours in Gravenhurst and have a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving,” said Mayor Paul Kelly.

Town Offices will be closed for the holiday long weekend, reopening to fall winter hours on Tuesday October 13, (8:30 am- 4:30 pm). Limited public access will resume through appointments only. Please visit to schedule an in-person meeting with staff at the Gravenhurst Centennial Centre, Gravenhurst Fire Department, Station #1 and Gravenhurst Municipal Office. Currently, services offered at the Municipal Office are limited to issuing marriage licenses and commissioning documents.
