A New Online Platform to Provide Feedback on a Variety of Initiatives

Gravenhurst, ON – The Town of Gravenhurst has launched a new community engagement platform called ‘Engage Gravenhurst’. This site will serve as another means for the community to learn about current and upcoming initiatives, and an opportunity for the Town to gather input for consideration when developing policy, programs and services. This platform will be added to the municipality’s suite of engagement services and be used to support other types of community engagement, such as public meetings and surveying.

“Our Town Council this term has made a strategic effort to increase the amount of community engagement that goes into the work that we’re doing,” said Mayor Paul Kelly “Engage Gravenhurst provides us with another tool that will make it easy for our citizen’s to let us know their thoughts on important processes that Council must consider,” said the Mayor.

Engage Gravenhurst can be accessed by users on most devices, including mobile devices and tablets, by visiting www.engagegravenhurst.ca. With the adaptability of this platform, you can engage with the municipality anytime, from anywhere. The tool also provides registrants a way to share thoughts on ongoing initiatives and ideas they have to help guide decision making in our community.

“This new interactive online community engagement platform will give residents an easy way to engage in many of the processes that the municipality manages on a regular basis. While in-person meetings are particularly challenging to have given the current climate, this innovative tool will provide us the opportunity to gather important input from our community and consider incorporating into our operations,” said Glen Davies, Chief Administrative Officer.

The site currently features the following projects:

1)    2021 Budget – Residents are encouraged to submit their ideas related to Gravenhurst’s largest annual policy document, the budget.

2)    Gravenhurst Hometown Heroes – Nominate your neighbour for doing something out of the kindness of their heart. If you see a random act of kindness, lets give that person some recognition.

3)    Fall in Love with Gravenhurst – Tourism is different today than it was last year. We want to hear about your favourite places to be a tourist in Gravenhurst, and share it with your fellow residents.

4)    Gateway Job Spot – This site is intended to help businesses and job seekers get matched. The project gives businesses the opportunity to post employment listings and job seekers to post details about where they are looking to work.

All new user registrations for the site between now and November 15th will be entered into a draw to win a $100 Gravenhurst shopping spree using Gravenhurst Dollars.
