Muskoka Wharf Boardwalk Replacement Project
GRAVENHURST, ON  – The Town of Gravenhurst in collaboration with The Gonneau Group will begin the Muskoka Wharf Boardwalk Replacement Project on Monday March 26.  The purpose of the project is to replace portions of the existing deck boards and underlying framework timbers. The project is expected to last for approximately nine weeks.
“Originally approved as part of the 2017 Capital Plan, this important project will greatly improve the aesthetics and functionality of the boardwalk infrastructure and ensure a continued safe and enjoyable place for all. We’re pleased that our contract group is able to get the project off the ground before our high season arrives at the Wharf,” said Andrew Stacey, director of infrastructure services.
The replacement work will be staged so that the entire boardwalk is not dismantled at once to allow some continued usage by the public. The areas under construction will be clearly marked by the contractor.  During the project, full parking availability will be limited, however access will be maintained to all area businesses. The contractor will be working with Muskoka Wharf businesses to ensure minimal disruption.
The Town of Gravenhurst appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation during this replacement project and will work with the contractor to ensure impacts are minimal and business activity remains as normal as possible.
