Celebrating the ‘Motown’ Sound with Luke McMaster
The “Icons of Soul Tour’ Lands in Gravenhurst April 27th
Gravenhurst, ON – The Gravenhurst Opera House invites you to celebrate the spirit of Motown and Soul with singer songwriter, Luke McMaster and his  ‘Icons of Soul Tour’ Saturday April 27.
Best known for his work in the pop duo McMaster and James, (often referred as the Canadian Hall and Oates), Luke McMaster is proud to bring his latest solo project to the Gravenhurst Opera House which features his recent collaborations with Motown’s legendary Lamont Dozier, writer/producer of more than 30 # 1 classic R&B chart-toppers (“Love Is Like A Heat Wave,” “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch),” and “You Can’t Hurry Love”) and Rascals founder Felix Cavaliere (“Good Lovin’,” “Groovin’,” and “People Got to Be Free”), Luke McMaster’s ICONS OF SOUL tour is not to be missed!
Icons of Soul marries McMaster’s talents with those of two Rock N’ Roll and Songwriters’ Hall of Fame inductees. This event captures the ultimate, authentic musical experience of contemporary blue-eyed soulful songwriters in collaboration with the original hit makers.
When he turned solo in 2002, McMaster launched a more focused songwriting career and had songs placed on multi-platinum and gold albums by Rihanna, Nick Lachey, Nick Carter and Kalan Porter (7 million sales and counting). He also recorded a succession of EPs and albums (2008’s Time EP, 2013’s All Roads, 2014’s Heart of Soul and 2016’s Trending) that contained both originals and sensual interpretations of such favourites as Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours),” Roberta Flack’s “Feel Like Makin’ Love” and the Bee Gees “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart.”
Enjoy one of the most legendary generations of sound, a time of social and cultural change, with Luke McMaster and ‘Icons of Soul’ performing at the Gravenhurst Opera House, Saturday April 27.
