Beaches, Parks and Trails in Gravenhurst

There are 6 public beaches in Gravenhurst maintained by the Town, located on Gull Lake, Lake Muskoka, Bass Lake and Sparrow Lake.

All of our beaches are situated within a public park and range from small and secluded to large and busy.  Our largest beach at Gull Lake Rotary Park is the only waterfront area that has swim docks and is supervised by lifeguards.   All other beaches have unsupervised swim areas defined by buoy lines with safety equipment located nearby.

Amenities at each park also vary, but every beach is located in a park with picnic tables, parking area and washrooms(with the exception of Lorne St. Beach).  Our larger parks, such as Gull Lake Rotary and Muskoka Bay, have picnic shelters, sports fields and playgrounds as well.  Smaller beaches such as Bass Lake and Lorne St. only offer a small grassy area adjacent to the beach.

Please exercise caution at any of our beaches.  Some swimming areas have a shallow entry, while others have a sharp drop off point.

As an alternative to swimming in a lake, there is also a splash pad located at the Wharf, available seasonally from June through September.

Parks are governed under the Parks Control By-Law.  Rules and guidelines are posted at each beach for patrons to adhere to for the safety and enjoyment of all users.

Parks are open daily from 7:00 am – 11:00 pm and swimming permitted from dawn to dusk during the summer season.
