Bird Buddies | Thursdays in June | 10:30am

Join Ms. Jenn outside each week to learn all about local species of birds! Read a story, sing songs, play games, and learn about nature along the way!

Story Time | Tuesdays | 10:30am

Join Ms. Jenn every Tuesday morning for our preschool story time, complete with stories, songs, crafts, early literacy activities, and fun for all!

When: Tuesday at 10:30am
Who: 18 months - 4 years (younger/older siblings welcome) 
Registration: Not needed 

Baby Bop | Fridays | 10:30am

Come to the Library for Baby Story Hour every Friday! We will have lap bounces and songs, baby signs, sensory play, early literacy tips and fun, as well as activities for fine and gross motor development!

When: Fridays at 10:30am
Who0-2 years (older siblings are also welcome)
Registration: Not needed

Friday June 21st: Summer Stroll

Join Ms. Jenn on the Leo Heritage Trail (meet at the dog park) for a stroll with your little one. Bring the stroller! Rain date: June 28th.

Magical Mini Gardens & Fairytale Fun | Monday, July 1st | 11am -3pm

Join GPL and the Muskoka Master Gardeners to make your own magical mini gardens at Gull Lake Park this Canada Day! Adopt your own dazzling dragon or fancy fairy to make your garden complete, and enjoy the family-friendly activities at our Fairytale Fun Tent!

Cars & Cupcakes Kickoff | Tuesday, July 2nd | 3pm 

Celebrate the start of summer at GPL’s Cars & Cupcakes Kickoff! Check out Top Gear Hobbies Muskoka’s epic RC vehicles, decorate car cupcakes, solve a missing monster truck mystery, and enter for your chance to win a free family pass to the Muskoka Drive-In!

Make your very own fairy wings and matching accessories, read fantastical fairy stories, adopt a balloon animal, and enjoy songs, prizes, snacks and scavenger hunts. Come dressed as your most magical self!

Celebrate your favourite children’s authors each week at GPL’s Kids’ Author Hour. Children will read stories, make fun crafts, sing silly songs, and participate in awesome activities, while practising their literacy skills. But the fun doesn't stop there - join us for live readings with local authors, Les Dakens, and Bruce A. Hansen!

Come to the Library to build, experiment, explore and discover, in our hands-on Super Science series. Each week we will investigate a new branch of science with exceptional experiments and amazing activities!

July 4th: Physics Lab
Puzzle through how the world works as we build cars that operate using balloons, construct catapults, and explore electric oobleck and magnetic slime!

Explore and discover the different parts of the human body at this week’s Biology Lab with special guest, Isaiah Tryon, from Muskoka Paramedic Services. We will make a stethoscope, invent our own vicious virus, and even explore a real-life ambulance!

Get ready to have your minds blown in this week’s Chemistry Lab! There will be sensational science experiments including, DIY lava lamps, erupting volcanoes, and invisible ink secret messages.

Fairy Garden

GPL’s Fairy Garden is back...and it’s bigger than ever! Visit the garden weekly to see what new nonsense our tiny friends get up to. While you’re here, drop off letters in our fairy mailbox to become pen pals with Lily, the Library Fairy!

Dragon Tales Writing Contest

Write a short story about the last two existing dragons! Come into the Library or download and print a copy of the template from our website for more information. Your completed template with your story is due back to the library by August 21st for the chance to win a prize. Winner will be announced at our Marvellous Magician End of Summer Event!

Summer Reading Road Trip

Read across Canada with us this summer for a chance to win a prize! Come into the Library or download and print a copy of the reading log from our website for more information. Your completed reading log is due back to the library by August 28th. Winner will be announced at our Marvellous Magician End of Summer Event!

Parents/Guardians: Please be aware that children under the age of 10 years old must have a parent or guardian present in the Library. Parents or guardians need to be present in the library at all times during programs and be readily available to supervise their child’s breaks, or early dismissal from programs. Children over the age of 10 are allowed to be in the Library without a parent or guardian present, but will not be supervised by Library staff and are free to leave the program room and the Library at their own discretion.
