Fred Schulz at Music on the Barge

Due to COVID-19 and physical distancing protocols, the 2021 season of “Music on the Barge” is cancelled. We hope to welcome you back next year!

The “Music on the Barge” concert series is the largest outdoor concert series north of Toronto and draws thousands of seasonal and permanent residents to the shores of Gull Lake to enjoy a great evening of musical entertainment at this unique waterfront setting.

To the season sponsors, entertainers, volunteers, backstage helpers and of course the wonderful audiences, thank you for your ongoing support.

May we look forward to once again enjoying those Sunday nights at “Music on the Barge” in Gull Lake Rotary Park, Gravenhurst in the future.

Little Peter & The Elegants

Sunday, June 30th • 7:30 PM

We kick off our 70th Season with Little Peter & The Elegants, an 8-Piece 50's & 60's Rock 'n Roll Band! "Little Peter and the Elegants made its debut in 1973 at the Port Credit Secondary School Christmas assembly. They performed I Wonder Why, Yakety Yak and Rock Around the Clock. The audience asked for an encore but they didn’t know a 4th song! In 1974, Happy Days made its debut on television and LP&E played two school dances and a concert.

The band re-united with the original members for the 70th Reunion at PCSS in 1990 and again in 1995 with most of the original members. Today, Peter Toller is the only original member, and considers it a privilege to have such fine musicians in the band today!"

Members Include: Peter Toller (vocals), Brandon Rozen (vocals), Andreas Hackner (vocals), Doug Stone (bass & vocals), Jim Wood (guitar), James Racz (drums & vocals), Chris Robinson (saxophone & vocals), Richard Uglow (keyboards & vocals).

Abba Magic

Sunday, July 7th • 7:30 PM

ABBA was formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 1972, and went on to become one of the most commercially successful acts in the history of popular music. With over 200 million albums sold, ABBA topped music charts worldwide from 1974 to 1982. In 1999, ABBA found success in the musical theatre market with the smash Broadway hit “Mama Mia!” that also toured worldwide.

Direct from Canada’s premier producer of musical tribute shows, Bill Culp Productions, “ABBA Magic” features outstanding live musical performances that celebrate all of ABBA’s top hits, combined with dazzling 1970’s style costumes and choreography.

This lively, audience interactive performance will have you singing along (and maybe even dancing in the aisles!), to all your ABBA favourites, including “Mama Mia”, “Fernando” “Knowing Me, Knowing You” , “SOS”, "The Winner Takes It All”, Take A Chance”, “Waterloo” and of course, “Dancing Queen” amongst the many ABBA classics. Producer Bill Culp notes, “This fun-filled show is guaranteed to take you back to the glory days of 1970s pop music!”

Green River: Creedence Clearwater Revival Tribute

Sunday, July 14th • 7:30 PM

Green River - The #1 Nationally Touring Creedence Clearwater Revival/John Fogerty Tribute Show is the brain child of native New Yorker Rick Horvath. Noodles as he is affectionately known, was born to perform this music. He started singing CCR songs in his very first band when he was only 13 years old.

CCR was an American rock band active in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Their musical style encompassed the roots rock and swamp rock genres. Creedence Clearwater Revival's music is still a staple of American radio airplay and the band has sold 30 million albums in the United States alone.

The show is very faithful to a live CCR performance. Listeners enjoy a full 90 minute show of their favorite CCR classics (Bad Moon Rising, Proud Mary, Up Around the Bend to name a few) and songs that Creedence would turn into live jams such as Born on the Bayou and Susie Q. The band also mixes in John Fogerty classics including The Old Man Down the Road and Centerfield capturing the energy of his current show.
