Bar Opens at 6:30 PM | Show-Time is 7:30 PM

Opry Gold is a vibrant celebration featuring a rich mixture of classic Grand Ole Opry masters and the next generation of breakthrough country artists!

This show highlights all the amazing artists that have played the Opry stage over the years and tells the stories about their connections.

Opry Gold clearly is a labour of love for show creator Leisa Way and her multi-talented band, Bobby Prochaska, Fred Smith, Nathan Smith, Don Reid and musical arranger Bruce Ley. The fiddle, banjo, drums, keyboard, guitars, bass, harmonica and even the washboard; these artists can play them all!  And when they vocalized, the audience is treated to first class harmonies and solos.

Opry Gold takes the audience on a journey back through time to the days, in 1925, when Nashville’s radio station WSM became the first all-country music station featuring early stars like Uncle Jimmy Thompson and Grandpa Jones and then featuring the sounds of Dolly, Kitty and Tammy right through to today’s stars like Shania, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.

Leisa Way’s Opry Gold brings audiences some of the very best of classic and new wave country music and heapin’ helpin’ of good-natured fun!

Born in the Little Burgundy area of Montreal, Allan Royal has been an actor, writer and director in Canada for over 53 years. He has been an avid writer over the past 25 years, publishing poetry, experimenting in various types of prose from short stories to playwriting. In 2010, this love of writing resulted in his own one-man shows, which led to the creation of his literary muse, Benjamin Flicker and his trilogy of tales. This collection of short stories; 736 Dominion Isn’t There Anymore, about Ben’s early years, is the first of the trilogy and has been published by Inglewood Press just this spring.

Allan will be starring, alongside Robin Clipsham in Harvest by Ken Cameron, the first production of the 2019 Summer Theatre Season at the Gravenhurst Opera House.

Join us in Trillium Court Lounge and lose yourself in an evening with Allan (and Ben) as they give you a glimpse into Old Montreal, young Ben’s discovery of his world and the steadfastness of family, delivered with a lot of humour and tender compassion. In the spring of 1999, an ad was placed in a local Hamilton newspaper, looking for local musicians. John and Luella, founders of Grand River Dinner Cruises, were putting together a new music show. The music show had been a Dinner Cruises tradition for years, and when the previous star retired, John suggested getting some fiddle players for the new show. So in May 1999, after a short period of auditions, the ‘Millennium Four’ took the stage at ‘Big Creek Boat Farm’ (as it was then known). This original group soon became The Blazing Fiddles, consisting of three violins and a piano. This form remained the standard until 2008, when a stand-up bass (Chris Kettlewell) was added. Eventually the group evolved to include Jeff Taylor, Brielle Goheen, Adam Poot, and Chris Kettlewell as THE BLAZING FIDDLES!!

Over the last ten years, The Blazing Fiddles have performed for hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world! Last year they played at the Gravenhurst Opera House to an audience that insisted we bring them back soon. Don’t miss this concert!

Derek Marshall and Nicholas Arnold present a fabulous concert of hits and comedy. With their own brand of wacky humour, they pay tribute to the comedy team that dominated television, radio and nightclub stages in the 1950's with timeless hits such as Everybody Loves Somebody, Sway, You’re Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You, Volaré, That’s Amoré, Return To Me, Standing on the Corner, Memories Are Made of This, You’ll Never Walk Alone and Jerry’s #1 hit, Rockabye Your Baby with a Dixie Melody. Promotional poster for the upcoming Jack Hutton & Friends concert on August 17th

Jack Hutton & Friends: The Farewell Tour

Saturday, August 17th
Doors open at 6:30 PM | Show at 7:30 PM

Tickets: $25

They're back! Jack Hutton & Friends will be playing at the Gravenhurst Opera House this summer after a one year hiatus!

Following in the footsteps of the Rolling Stones, they’re calling this their ‘Farewell Tour’ and they’re looking forward to bringing us the most memorable moments of their shows of the past. The group's very first Gravenhurst performance on July 26, 2003, may have set an attendance record, filling every seat. The tribute to Walter Donaldson got standing ovations for tunes like 'Yes Sir, That's My Baby', which they’ve included in this program.

Don't miss hearing trombone virtuoso Bob Livingston, who toured with the Glenn Miller Orchestra in his teens. Bob, who is currently busy performing and writing arrangements with a sextet, sounds like Tommy Dorsey with 'I'll Never Smile Again' and 'Getting Sentimental Over You'. Brian Bauer, who mixes the world's worst jokes with his unmatched mastery of vaudeville saxophone, will show us why he is one of the world's best. Will Wilson from Niagara-on-the-Lake, will demonstrate why he is one of the few banjo players who has performed with a symphony orchestra. Ric Giorgi, who has led three symphony orchestras in the Toronto area, will again anchor the evening on string bass and perhaps bass saxophone. Band leader, Jack Hutton, who sounds like a mixture of Fats Waller and a ragtime Chopin, will be presiding on the 9-foot Steinway grand.

A great night of great music with great friends! Don't miss it!
