Family Literacy Fun Day in Gravenhurst January 23rd
Featuring Children’s Author Werner Zimmermann
GRAVENHURST, ON- You’re invited to the Family Literacy Fun Day in Gravenhurst, Saturday, January 23 in Gravenhurst. This year’s event will take place at the Gravenhurst Public School, 301 Mary St. S, from 10 to 11:30 am with special guest Canadian children’s author and illustrator H. Werner Zimmermann.
"Twice annually the Muskoka Family Literacy Group comes together to plan Family Literacy Fun Events in Gravenhurst and Bracebridge that promotes and encourages literacy amongst youth. This year we are very excited to have H. Werner Zimmermann be a part of our event. Mr. Zimmermann has written and illustrated many beloved children’s books in combination with other loved authors," said Julia Reinhart, CEO / Chief Librarian.
Zimmermann is the author of ‘Snow Day’ and the illustrator of ‘Porcupine in a Pine Tree’, ‘In my Backyard, ‘Pippin the Christmas Pig’ and the ‘Farmer Joe’ series. "It’s going to be a real treat to have Mr. Zimmerman read to the children from one of his books, and he’ll be doing an interactive presentation," said Reinhart.
Muskoka Family Literacy Group – consists of the Literacy Society of South Muskoka, Gravenhurst Public Library, Bracebridge Public Library, Muskoka Family Focus and Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca
