The Town of Gravenhurst is working towards becoming a fully accessible Town and offering accessible services and programs by removing and preventing barriers that could hold back any member of the public from participating in community life.

The Province of Ontario developed accessibility standards for all private, voluntary and not-for-profit organizations. To review the legislation and standards:

Accessible Website Content

Our website is fully accessible and equipped with Browse Aloud, a software program that will read text content aloud, click on the BrowseAloud icon to the right to open the toolbar.

Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

To help the Town make Ontario accessible by 2025, Council has created a Multi-Year Accessibility Plan which lays out phased projects that remove barriers, address current and future requirements of the accessible regulations (AODA).

Annual Accessibility Reporting

Every year the Town is required to provide a status report to show the progress of actions taken to put in place the items included in the Multi-Year Accessibility Plan.

Gravenhurst Accessibility Advisory Committee

Town Council receives advice from the Accessibility Advisory Committee about the implementation and effectiveness of the Town's accessibility plan.

Assistive Device Exchange

If you are in need of an assistive device or have a device that is no longer needed, Independent Living Services hosts an Assistive Device Exchange Program. Note: Equipment is not inspected.
