Are You Eligible to Be a Paid On Call/Volunteer Firefighter in Gravenhurst?
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Live within 10 km of one of our 3 stations
  • Have 24 hour transportation available
  • Be in good health: a pre-employment medical screening form signed by a nurse practitioner or doctor must be provided
  • Provide a clean Vulnerable Sector criminal background check 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

In addition to the minimum qualifications listed above, the following items weigh heavily for selecting successful candidates:

  • Availability to respond to emergency incidents during daytime hours on weekdays in addition to weeknights, weekends and overnight hours
  • Primary residence located 5km or less to one of the three stations

  • Valid First Aid/CPR Level C
  • Class D drivers license with Z endorsement (Ontario Issued)

 Recruit Training
Following the recruitment process, successful applicants will undergo extensive recruit training. This involves a considerable time commitment by the applicant. Full recruit training schedules will be made available to applicants at an appropriate time.
