2025 Mayor’s Tea happening June 11

The annual Mayor’s Tea is just around the corner.

Now in its 41st year, the tea is set for Wednesday, June 11 at the Gravenhurst Opera House.

“It’s my privilege to host this long-standing community event. This is a wonderful opportunity for myself and my fellow council members to spend some time with residents. I invite everyone in Gravenhurst to join us for what will surely be a fun afternoon,” Mayor Heidi Lorenz said.

Musical entertainment will start at 1 p.m. and this year’s theme is ‘Celebrating Canadian Women in Song.’

Singer and guitarist Kasandra Bois will be the feature performer.

Bois plays weekly at different events in Muskoka, showcasing cover songs and her own original music.

One of her originals, called ‘You’ll Come Back Home,’ is available on iTunes and Spotify, and she has a new single coming out in June called ‘Bruised.”

During the afternoon, Mayor Lorenz will announce Gravenhurst’s 2025 Ontario Senior of the Year.

Annually, local municipalities nominate an individual who has enriched the social, cultural, or civic life of a community.

Barb McCabe was the 2024 Senior of Year.

Tea and other refreshments will be served in the Trillium Court following the musical entertainment and Senior of the Year presentation.

There is no cost to attend the Mayor’s Tea, however, the town does require people to reserve a spot at the event. Please RSVP by June 2.

To RSVP, please e-mail Recreation@Gravenhurst.ca or call 705-687-3412, ext. 2122.
