Coffee with Council Sept. 27
Residents now have a new way to connect with Town of Gravenhurst council members.
Council members will host their first Coffee with Council on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Coffee with Council will take place in the Terry Fox Auditorium at the Centennial Centre, 101 Centennial Dr.
“This is a great opportunity for people to come out and chat with council members one-on-one,” Mayor Heidi Lorenz said. “This is a drop-in style event with no set agenda. People with questions, concerns, suggestions or just a desire to know council members better are welcome.”
Light refreshments will be available at the event.
A Coffee with Council-type event was identified in the town’s Communications Strategy, which council approved in April 2024.
Council members will not advance any municipal business during the session – the gathering is strictly social with a community engagement focus.
Coffee with Council is in addition to other community engagement-type activities involving the town. These include the monthly Mayor’s Open Door program, the information table the town runs at the Gravenhurst Farmers’ Market, and various online engagement opportunities through EngageGravenhurst.ca.
The upcoming Coffee with Council is a pilot and if well received future dates will be considered.
