End-of-life educational series coming to Gravenhurst Public Library in April

The Gravenhurst Public Library is hosting an engaging and thoughtful educational series in April that will focus on end-of-life planning. 

Dubbed the ‘Planning Ahead: End of Life Series’ the free sessions will feature local professionals talking about a variety of topics over four days.

“This is a great opportunity to learn about the things we should all be considering if we haven’t done so already,” library CEO Julia Reinhart said. “We are fortunate to have such great subject matter experts in the community – people willing to share their knowledge with us.”

Below is an overview of the four sessions:

Session 1 – Estate Planning and Your Finances

Thursday, April 2, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Learn the basics of estate planning.

Topics include organizing financial information, naming beneficiaries, and planning with confidence. 

Session 2 – Hospice Care and Support

Thursday, April 9, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Learn about hospice services and support.

Topics include determining when hospice care is appropriate, and support for individuals and families.

Session 3 – Funeral Planning and Your Options

Thursday, April 16, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Learn about funeral planning options.

Topics include pre-planning arrangements, common questions, honouring personal wishes, and easing future decision-making for loved ones. 

Session 4 – Understanding Wills and Legal Planning

Thursday, April 23, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Learn about the importance of having a will.

Topics include the purpose of a will, key legal considerations, and reducing stress for families.
