Gravenhurst declares significant weather event – Dec. 28, 2025
The Town of Gravenhurst has declared a significant weather event.
The declaration suspends the standard timelines to meet winter maintenance objectives.
The town has made the declaration due to freezing rain and winter storm warnings issued by Environment Canada forecasting weather conditions that are expected to impact road maintenance operations.
The town is urging people to stay home. If people must travel, please use extreme caution, and allow for extra time to reach destinations.
The town’s Public Works division, which is responsible for winter maintenance in the community, is prepared for the event and will respond accordingly.
For road information, see 511 and Municipal 511.
For power outage information, see the Elexicon Outage Map or the Hydro One Outage Map.
To report a downed power line, call 9-1-1.
