Gravenhurst Public Library kicks off 2026 Summer Program Calendar
The Gravenhurst Public Library is excited to announce the launch of its 2026 Summer Program Calendar, packed with engaging free activities for residents and visitors of all ages.
“We are pleased to offer an array of fun and interesting programs for people in our community,” said Morgan Fitzgerald, child and youth services librarian for the Gravenhurst Public Library.
This year’s summer lineup offers something for everyone, featuring creative workshops, educational programs, family-friendly entertainment, and opportunities to connect with the community throughout the season.
The summer fun begins on Canada Day at Muskoka Wharf, where the library will help participants create magical mini gardens.
The excitement continues July 2 with the library’s official Summer Kick-Off event, Wild Wonders, featuring Amanda’s Exotic Animals.
Throughout the summer, children and families can enjoy a variety of popular programs, including STEM Squad, Science Sprouts, Library Legends, Movement for Minis, and much more.
The library is also pleased to bring back its highly anticipated Summer Trade School program, giving kids the opportunity to learn practical skills such as painting, floristry, construction and photography.
In addition to programs hosted at the library, the Gravenhurst Public Library is proud to partner with several community events, including Cinema Under the Stars, the Vintage Boat Show, Make a Splash, and the Gravenhurst Farmers’ Market.
These partnerships help bring library programming into the community and create even more opportunities for residents to engage, learn, and have fun throughout the summer.
The season will conclude with a spectacular End of Summer Celebration featuring stunt ventriloquist Tim Holland.
Adults can also look forward to a variety of programming, including craft workshops, game nights, and local history presentations hosted by the Gravenhurst Archives.
On July 8, attendees can explore the fascinating history of the Prisoner of War Camp 20 in Gravenhurst, while the Aug. 12 presentation, The Sands and Taboo: Stories from Gravenhurst’s Past, will uncover intriguing stories from the town’s history.
The library is also delighted to welcome back Tall Pine Tales with the Muskoka Authors’ Association on Aug. 22, celebrating local writers and storytelling.
The full Summer Program Calendar is available at the Gravenhurst Public Library and online.
Programs are free, though registration may be required for select programs.
