James Street closure notice – April 13 to April 24

Location: James Street, between John Street and Fernwood Drive, will be closed to general traffic. 

Road closure period: Monday, April 13, 2026, to Friday, April 24, 2026. 

Reason for closure: To facilitate unanticipated storm sewer drainage repairs near 341 James St. W. Equipment and materials will be staged along the closed section of James Street.  

Special notes: People can still walk along James Street to access Gravenhurst Public School and Gravenhurst High School. The pedestrian crosswalk will be accessible and crossing guards will be present during school hours.  

While James Street is closed to general traffic, driveway access will be maintained for residents and emergency vehicles.  

Please follow all construction signage in the area.  

Detour: Consider Muskoka Road 169 as an alternate route.
