Join the Gravenhurst Doors Open lineup

Do you have an interesting property that could be showcased as part of Doors Open in Gravenhurst in 2027?

The town is on the hunt for sites that could be featured as part of the local Doors Open tour next year.

“Our hope is to build on the tremendous success we had with the tour in 2025,” said Angela Ghikadis, a senior planner with the Town of Gravenhurst.

Ghikadis works with the town’s Heritage Committee to present the local event.

“We’re looking for buildings and grounds that offer something interesting or unique to share with the public,” Ghikadis said. “For example, buildings with historical significance, distinctive architecture, fascinating stories or features that people may not normally have the opportunity to see.”

Eleven different sites were part of the 2025 tour in Gravenhurst, including the Gravenhurst Train Station and the Gravenhurst Opera House.

The local Doors Open initiative is part of a greater Doors Open Ontario program delivered by the Ontario Heritage Trust.

Since the program started in 2002, the Ontario Heritage Trust says more than nine million visits have been made to various locations across the province.
