New street banners being installed

As the last signs of winter melt away and we look forward to the spring for new growth, the installation of updated street banners across the urban core will bring a fresh look. 

The Economic Development Division has been working to address enhanced beautification efforts for the summer of 2026. 

The first step of this project is new street banners developed as a collaborative effort between the Economic Development and Marketing divisions. These new banners capture four iconic visuals that represent the history, heritage, and natural assets of Gravenhurst. 

Designed in house, the banners are welcoming, eye-catching and show off Gravenhurst as a four-season destination; capturing key moments in each season that all can enjoy when in town. 

The four designs are themed - Come Sail Away, Musical Sunset, Frozen Stars and Have a Seat.  The seasonal designs feature the RMS Segwun, Gravenhurst Opera House, White Pine Trees and Muskoka Chairs framed with our iconic lakes and waterways, fall colours, clear and crisp winter skies, flora and fauna.

“The key attractions for investment in Gravenhurst are a quality of life that balances work and recreation, a vibrant community, and a sense of place. These banners are a nod to all of those elements and a subtle way to bring colour and movement to our urban core,” says Manager of Economic Development Amy Taylor.

As the new banners go up, the previous banners that celebrated the Opera House 125th Anniversary will come down and be available for pick up for those sponsors in the coming weeks.
