Our Gravenhurst election ‘Did you know’
Did you know the Town of Gravenhurst is having a municipal election this year?
The election is Oct. 26, 2026. Eligible electors will be able to cast their vote for the Mayor, District Councillors and Ward Councillor.
Did you know that voters for the town have two ways they can cast their ballot?
They can vote by telephone or internet. The polls will officially open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
Do you know who is eligible to vote in the election?

Residents – people who own property, rent, live in shared accommodation, or have no fixed address.

People who own or rent property here but live elsewhere.

Spouses of people who own or rent property in Gravenhurst.

Students living away from home.
You must also be at least 18 years old and a Canadian citizen.
Do you know when we will send your Voter Information Letter and PIN – an important package that you need to cast a ballot?
Late September. Watch your mailbox for it.

Do you know there is a deadline to file as a candidate in the election?
It’s Friday, Aug. 21, at 2 p.m.
Do you know that people wanting to run as a candidate must book an appointment to file their papers?
