Overnight snow removal operations in Gravenhurst start Monday night

The Town of Gravenhurst will conduct overnight snow removal operations starting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23.

The work involves removing snowbanks, which will improve sightlines for motorists and pedestrians.

People should use extreme caution when navigating areas where snow removal operations are taking place as there will be trucks and other heavy equipment in use.

Operations will take place on the following roads:

  • Muskoka Road 169, in town, from North Muldrew Lake Road to the intersection of Muskoka Road 169 and Muskoka Road 41 - both sides of the road.
  • Muskoka Road 18, southbound shoulder, between James Street and Talisman Drive.

Please note areas not specifically mentioned in this communication are being addressed as time and resources allow. Our team is working diligently between snowplowing activities to mitigate high banks and improve visibility at intersections.

Residents are reminded that overnight parking (12 a.m. to 7 a.m.) is prohibited on local roads from Nov. 1 to April 30. Overnight parking interferes with the town’s snow removal operations.

Vehicles left on roads overnight will be towed at the owner’s expense.
