Creative Seed Program
The Creative Seed is a FREE program which allows youth to play and create while exploring the world around them in new and exciting ways.
In 2024 the Gravenhurst Opera House launched a new arts program designed for schools in Gravenhurst. The goals of the program is to inspire students through community involvement in a creative process. Funded by the Town of Gravenhurst and the Gravenhurst Opera House, the program is presented by Autumn Smith, the Artistic Director of Timberbeast Productions.
What to Expect
Get ready for Autumn to take you on a theatrical journey, leading each class through five fun and interactive workshops culminating in a chance to show off your hard work ON STAGE at the Gravenhurst Opera house. Perform for friends, family and classmates. It's a blast!

Meet Autumn Smith, Artistic Director of Timberbeast Productions
Autumn Smith is a theatre director, artist educator, and community innovator with an MFA in Theatre Direction (York University) and classical training from The Oxford School of Drama. She is a Professor of Theatre at Memorial University, U of T, York University, and Centennial College, and serves as External Examiner for the
Sharjah Performing Arts Academy in the UAE. With 30 years of experience, Autumn has held leadership roles at Canadian Stage, Tarragon Theatre, and StageWest Mississauga, among others. She is currently the lead facilitator for the Experiential Arts Mentorship Program with York Region District School Board and York
