PUBLIC NOTICES AND UPDATES Request for Expressions of Interest for Licensed Dock Slips at Muskoka Wharf Proposed Amendments to the Burning Control By-law 2005-208 Proposed Amendments to the Dog Control By-law 87-183 Re-location of Recreation and Community Services Offices Invitation for Comments regarding the New Skate Park Notice to Members of the Public wishing to serve on the Gravenhurst Accessibility Advisory Committee Centennial Centre Expansion and Aquatic Facility Update Town of Gravenhurst Burning Control By-law 2005-208 and Dog Control By-law 87-183 The Town of Gravenhurst has recently completed an extensive Ward boundary review. Electoral boundaries have been adopted by by-law resulting in better representation by population.
As a result of the new ward boundaries, there is a spin off to other existing by-laws including the Town’s Burning Control By-law and the Dog Control By-law. Subsequently, it is necessary to amend the existing two by-laws to reflect these changes.
An introduction to the Dog Control By-law amendment and the Burning Control By-law amendment has been made to the Corporate Services Committee. The Committee has instructed staff to advertise the above proposals and to seek public input with regards to the amendments. You may view the proposals on the Town’s website at or visit the Town office to view the street listing and maps for the revised Dog Control and Burning Control amendements.
If you currently reside in an area that prohibits burning or restricts each household to two dogs, there is no change. However, all residents bordering the previous mentioned areas should view the map and street listing to see if you now have been included in the no burning area or the two dogs per household area. The proposed amendments were presented via Memo to Committee for the Dog Control and Burning Control By-laws.
If you have any questions regarding the proposed amendments please contact to James Wouters, Chief Municipal Law Officer at 687-3412 ext. 228.
